Sisters Sneak Peek | Alpharetta GA Teen Photographer

I love shooting portraits of teens. No, I'm not kidding. (I used to teach junior high too.) There's something about the energy and vitality of teenagers I just eat up. I also appreciate their willingness to try new things in order to get a great picture. These sisters were super fun to work with, and I even got to rifle through their closets and choose their outfits. We lucked out on the location--a field blooming that weekend as we drove by and decided we wanted to shoot there--a perfect spot for some gorgeous girls.

Flying High | Roswell GA Family Photographer

There's nothing better than a family that wants to play while shooting. We took advantage of the high spirits of this little guy and his darling brother for a fun family shoot last week. Enjoy the sneak peek!

Four in the Family | Roswell GA Family and Baby Photographer

When I schedule and coordinate shoots, it's usually the mom I talk to. But this one was put together by the dad--a designer and artist I've admired since I met him a couple years ago. He especially wanted me to capture images of their new baby and some of mom and baby, similar to the ones I took of his older brother when he was a newborn. Of course, I have lots of favorites of everyone in the family. My goal at each shoot is to capture images that a family will look back on for years to come. Enjoy!

A Photographer in the Family | Extended Family Portraits

One of the thrills of being the photographer in the family is creating wonderful portraits of the people you love. Here are some of the photos from my extended family's shoot in Portland including 2 whole family shots I did with the timer! We were there for my brother's wedding and just lucked out on the location: an abandoned parking lot behind our hotel. It was overgrown with moss, ivy, and had an amazing tree right where I could take portraits.

And check out the attire! I told everyone to wear jewel-toned or primary-colored tops -- no "matchy, matchy." I love how that turned out!

Thanks to my sister Charity for taking the above photo of my family.

Little Family Sneak Peek | Canton GA Family and Baby Photographer

This little family and I spent a fun morning shooting last Saturday. Their little guy's birthday is this week and mom has a darling idea to have people at his birthday party sign the matte of a frame for the image below. Only problem is, I don't know which one I'd pick! He's so gorgeous on all the versions!

Preschooler Portraits | Roswell GA Children's Photographer

I'm gearing up for the holiday season and having fun taking portraits of my own little guy for Christmas gifts.
Here's some of my techniques for getting great portraits of a preschooler:

A cute shirt on a cute boy. I love stripes on boys!
Daddy standing nearby with a reflector while I shoot from above
Sitting on Daddy's shoulders

Rocking chair from a friend
Playing "Head, shoulders, knees, and toes"
Running
Gorgeous golden light

A fast lens to catch those "up in the air" shots
And a little more running!

I love a good triptych!

Tonight, I'm editing photos from my brother's wedding. I love how this series of 3 turned out!
