Family Portraits at Home | The Stann Family

I looooove these portraits from my session with the Stann family. It's so fun to be part of making a permanent family memory for these girls and their parents.

As you can see from the indoor shots, the Stann family has some beautiful rustic decor, and we echoed that in the framing for their over-the-fireplace portrait. Thanks, Teressa for the cell phone pic!

I try to make every session as painless as possible for parents and kids--especially because I know how stressful it can be to get your portraits taken. My philosophy is, if you're having a good time at the session, then the smiles are going to be natural and genuine! I'm an easy-going person and can handle just about any little hiccup during a shoot, including pets and rambunctious kids. (I love rambunctious kids!)

I have an awesome time doing my job and I hope my clients have an awesome time with me too! You can see a little behind-the-scenes from our shoot here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BZZgxe9nz7E/?taken-by=southernsavvygram

Also, make sure to check out the terrific foundation that Teressa and her sister have spearheaded, the Lou Ruspi Jr. Foundation, focusing on improving mental health and suicide prevention in schools and in the community. We featured their story in Our Milton Neighbor and I was so moved by their work.

I Heart Families | Atlanta GA Family and Child Photographer

Most professional photographers here in Atlanta specialize in a certain type of photography: weddings, maternity, babies, etc. My specialty is families. I love the challenge of wrangling everyone into a suitable pose, getting all the kids to look at the camera and smile at the right time, and creating a fun experience for everyone during the shoot. Plus, I know I'm offering a service that most people can't do for themselves!

I strive to create a series of beautiful portraits that you can hang on your walls and love for the rest of your family's life -- and then pass down to your kids -- like these portraits here.

Do you have a current picture of your family hanging in your home? Give me a shout. Let's make something beautiful for you!

Generations | Atlanta GA Extended Family Photographer

What better way to celebrate great grandma's 90th birthday than a weekend in her honor? The weekend included our photo shoot, lots of family time, and great food. The main event, a birthday brunch for Grandma, topped the weekend.

Shooting for this family made me remember my own Aunt Von, Donnie and Donna who were my closest relatives growing up. I treasure the photos I have of those sweet ladies, and I hope that this family will feel the same about my images. Besides doing a big group photo (in classic Marchet-style: casual, friendly, and colorful), I especially wanted a good portrait of Grandma. I think the most fun picture was the cousins group shot. Love it!

Oh Boys! | Norcross GA Family Photographer

Oh, how I love shooting families with boys! They make the play and interaction so fresh and real in my portraiture. I especially loved seeing how these two little guys warmed up to me as we shot with their mom and dad last week in historic Norcross. Enjoy the sneak peek!
