When you hire me as your photographer, you'll help shape the character and style of your images from start to finish. Of course, I'll be there to offer expert advice, and in the end, you'll have gorgeous portraits you'll treasure forever. Here's what to expect when you book a family, child, couple, senior, or newborn session with Butler Family Photography.
Before the Session
Before your session, in a pre-shoot consultation, we'll talk about your ideas and shot requests for the session. I want to know about your style and the areas of your home you would like to hang your portraits. I may even ask you to send me a snapshot of those spots. We'll go over clothing choices, possible locations, and get some details about the people/pets I'll be shooting. I'm happy to answer questions about how to prepare for the shoot, what to expect when we're there, and anything else!
The Session
At the session, we'll work to capture the images you have requested. Clients frequently request candid moments, portraits, and special poses they have seen on the website or in other photographs. I believe photography is a collaboration between the photographer and the subject, so I encourage your input and ideas.

The Location
You may request a specific location, or I will be happy to offer choices based on the style you want for your photos: rustic, urban, historic, etc. All sessions are shot on location in an outdoor or indoor setting in the North Atlanta area, Georgia. Locations outside of Roswell or Alpharetta are subject to an additional travel cost.
After the Session
After allowing time for processing and editing your images (generally within 2 to 2 ½ weeks), I'll meet with you for a viewing & ordering session at your home or over the phone/internet. I'll show you the proofs from the shoot and we'll pick out your favorites together. I'll also bring samples so you can see the kinds of products available from my professional color-managed photo lab. My portrait art includes framed wall portraits, canvases, metals, albums, jewelry, cards, and the highest-quality prints. At the end of our meeting, I'll take your order for portrait art. Collections (and their discounts) are only available during the viewing & ordering session, so it's important that all the decision-makers are there for our meeting.
The Images
Your selection will include images in fine art color and black and white. After selecting the images for your order, each image will be custom-edited and retouched to your specifications.
Booking
The non-refundable session fee is required to book your session. Canceling or rescheduling 7 days or less in advance of your session will result in the loss of the session fee. Exceptions due to sickness, emergency, or inclement weather will be at the discretion of the photographer.

Image Use
All clients sign a model release and an accident indemnity agreement before the shoot. All images created by Marchet Butler and Butler Family Photography may be used for their website, blog, portfolio, and promotional materials. Marchet Butler and Butler Family Photography retain the copyright to all images.
